I must painfully admit I have not yet finished this masterpiece by Osho, but I cannot resist the urge to celebrate my 2/3's completion by blogging. When I think about the changes of opinion, personality, etc that I have undergone in my life; none has been so powerful as the enlightenment and awareness I have received from this book. Osho's perspective is so refreshing. Like most I was drawn initially by the title, but knowing Osho I hoped that this book would assist me in reaching a higher level of awareness. It has done that and much more. Never before had I realized how saturated our lives are with sex energy and because sex has such a negative conotation in our society we do our best to suppress this energy. But this energy is our life, so much more than lust, it is our creative force. Everything we are and everything we hope to be will be born from our sex energy. We have always known that there is a spiritual or soulful experience during sex, but I never understood why. Besides the physical connection, there was not much else to explain it. Osho describes sex as the first stepping stone to the superconscious. In order to transcend this consciousness we must master the art of meditation during sex. Meditation was created to mimic the experience of mindlessness and timelessness experienced during orgasm. When the two are combined we experience Samadhi or Nirvana. And when we further realize that sex is not needed to experience Samadhi we can transcend to a higher level, to the divine, to godliness.
